Sri D. Krishna Bhaskar, IAS Chairman & Managing Director

Sri Krishna Bhaskar is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2012 batch and has been serving as Chairman and Managing Director of TGTRANSCO since November 14, 2024. TGTRANSCO is responsible for electricity transmission across Telangana, serving a consumer base of approximately 40 million.

His work in public administration has been recognised through several national and state-level awards, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration (2019, 2020), the National Award for Excellence in Rural Development (2019), Swachhta Darpan Recognition (2017), and the Telangana Excellence Award (2018).

He holds academic qualifications in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Finance and Marketing from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and Applied Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has been a recipient of academic and professional fellowships, including the Robert Solow Fellowship at MIT, the Fulbright-Nehru Scholarship, the John F. Kennedy / Reid Marsh Denis Fellowship at Harvard, the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, and the Pratibha Scholarship.

He has co-authored a case study on economic policy interventions, which has been published in the Harvard Case Repository and the Case Centre.

In 2023, he was recognised by IIT Kharagpur as a Young Alumni Achiever.
